Fire Department Helicopter Rescue Re-Enactment Highlights Daughters and Sons to Work Day at Fermilab, April 22
BATAVIA, Ill.-A dramatic rescue re-enactment-extricating an accident victim from a car crash and evacuating the victim by helicopter-is one of the main attractions for Daughters and Sons to Work Day (DASTOW) at the Department of Energy's Fermilab on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.
Media representatives wishing to cover the day's events must contact Mike Perricone or Elizabeth Clements in Fermilab's Office of Public Affairs by Tuesday, April 20. Public Affairs will then arrange for access to the site at the Security checkpoint at the lab's west side entrance (Pine and Kirk Roads), and will accompany media representatives to the demonstration area.
The rescue operation is one of several distinctive activities held that day, in connection with the national Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work day. The schedule includes "The Butterflies of Fermilab," in Ramsey Auditorium at 9 AM; the Super-Cool Cryogenics Show in Ramsey at 1 p.m.; a visit to the buffalo pasture at 2 p.m.; activities in the Lederman Science Education Center at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Also, Fermilab's Roads and Grounds Department will sponsor the annual Earth Day observance with tree planting and a picnic lunch.
