2014 standard mileage reimbursement rate
The Internal Revenue Service and the General Services Administration have issued the 2014 standard mileage reimbursement rate for non Government owned vehicles. It is 56 cents per mile, effective January 01, 2014.

Free Introductory Yoga Classes Feb. 3 & 6
Are you new to Yoga or want to try it out for free? Meet our new certified instructor. Dee will be available to answer your questions at Noon and then stay for the free class from 12:15-12:45 on Feb. 3 and Feb. 6. If you like it sign up in the Wellness Office for one or both of the sessions starting the next week. Mondays: 12-12:45pm, Feb. 10-March 24 (no class 3/17). Fee: $45. Thursdays: Feb. 13-March 27 (no class 3/20). Fee: $45. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this class will help you feel both energized and relaxed. Scottish country dancing meets Tuesday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn
Silk and Thistle Scottish country dancing is held every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. The group and is taught by Doug Jensen. Newcomers are always welcome and are paired with experienced dancers -- no need to come with a partner. Winter cancellations are announced by email the afternoon of the dance. International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn
International folk dancing is held every Thursday evening, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. Newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on. Winter cancellations are announced by email the afternoon of the dance. English country dancing rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 11, at Kuhn Village Barn
English country dancing, the practice session for the New Year's Ball, rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 11, noon to 3 p.m., at Kuhn Village Barn. This session will focus on the dances for the New Year's Ball weekend, Jan. 18-19, held at the Baker Center in St. Charles. The group meets monthly, on the 1st Sunday of the month through May and newcomers are always welcome. Barn Dance Jan. 12
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by the Common Taters and calling by Paul Watkins. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. Chicago Brass Quintet - Fermilab Gallery Chamber Series - Jan. 26
Celebrating 50 years, this ensemble kicks off the 2014 Gallery Chamber Series with a concert of music by Vivaldi, Aaron Copland, Monteverdi, Bela Bartok and others on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26 at 2:30 in the Second Floor Art Gallery. They have now performed across the United States, Canada, South America, and Asia. Highlights include performances at The Kennedy Center, Chautauqua Institute, and on WFMT, NPR and the CBC. Dirty Dozen Brass Band - Fermilab Arts Series - Jan. 25
"New Orleans' most passionate and well-known brass band that finds the funk regardless of which genre they decide to delve into." Hal Horowitz. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a world famous music machine, synonymous with genre- bending romps and high-octane performances. They revitalized the brass band in New Orleans and around the world, progressing from festivals in their early years to touring nearly constantly in the U.S. and in over 30 other countries on five continents. The Dirty Dozen have been featured guests on albums by artists including David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Dr. John and the Black Crowes. Date: 1/25/14 at 8 pm - tickets $30/$15 ages 18 and under. Supersmart Super Computers - Lecture by Dr. Pete Beckman, Argonne - January 17
Enormous supercomputers are used to accelerate scientific discovery and predict the future. From exploring the secret inner workings of the universe or improving combustion in jet engines to predicting the impact of climate change on future farmlands, supercomputers are helping us address the world's critical problems. The relatively new discipline of computing is changing every corner of scientific discovery as well as our lives. This talk explains the technologies and computer science fueling a new breed of massive, powerful, and smart computers. Pete is co-director of ANL/Northwestern Inst. for Science & Engineering. Users' Center closed Jan. 6 & 7
The Users' Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6, and Tuesday, Jan. 7. The special by-invitation-only Chez Leon dinner on Jan. 7 will proceed as planned.

Free Weekly Tai Chi Easy, Integral Tai Chi/Qigong
Free weekly wellness class that features moving meditation practices for vitality, health enhancement, and stress management. We practice gentle movement, breath awareness, and relaxation with guided meditation/visualization to calm the nervous system, foster higher immune system function, reduce reactivity, and activate internal healing resources. This is not a martial Tai Chi class. Come join us to re-balance and re-charge. Free fitness towel to those attending a class January 6 - 10. Float Holiday - 2014
As in previous years, the 2014 Float Holiday will not be available for use on your January 2014 timecards. You will be able to select and use it beginning Feb. 1, 2014. If you plan on using your 2014 float holiday in January 2014 please e-mail the Payroll Manager at lsmith@fnal.gov before you complete your timecard and the hours will be manually set up for your use on the timecard.

Indoor Soccer
