English country dancing Sunday, May 2
English country dancing will meet on Sunday, May 2, at Kuhn Village Barn. The afternoon starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 until 5 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome. The group will meet a second time in May, on May 16, and then switch to a summer schedule, meeting June 20, July 25 and Aug. 15. Outdoor Soccer League begins May 4
Outdoor Soccer League will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m., beginning May 4 through September at the Village Soccer Field. All levels are welcome. Next Yoga Session begins May 4
Yoga will be held from noon - 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 4 - June 29 in the Auditorium of Wilson Hall. Fee is $85/person. This class is suitable for all ages and levels of experience. Muscle Toning by Bod Squad begins May 6
Muscle Toning classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 6 - June 29 at the Recreation Facility Exercise Room. Fee is $77/person. National Day of Prayer observance May 6
An observance of the 59th annual National Day of Prayer will be held from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, in the Wilson Hall "Darkside" conference room which is in the northwest corner of the 6th floor. We will read the Presidential Proclamation and have volunteers pray for our nation and laboratory for no more than 5 minutes each. National Lab Day 2010
National Lab Day is a nationwide movement to support science, technology, engineering and math education in our schools by connecting teachers with working professionals. This connection will bring more hands-on, inquiry-based lab experiences to students. Fermilab's celebration of National Lab Day will take place the week of May 3-7. Join Fermilab in supporting National Lab Day by volunteering for opportunities in our community. FORE! The 2010 golf season is about to hit you
The Fermilab Golf League consists of individual leagues, playing on local courses on different nights of the week. There are about 100 golfers in the league. We’d like a few more. We play weekly at the following local courses; Arrowhead Golf Course, Bliss Creek Golf Course and the Fox Valley Golf Course. Membership is open to all Fermilab employees (both present and past), their families and contractors doing business with the lab. SciTech summer camps start June 14
From June 14 to July 30, SciTech Hands-on Museum in downtown Aurora will offer 24 one-week camps for children, including the popular camps "Totally ballistic!" and "Kitchen Chemistry" as well as the new "Wild Weather Wonders" camp. Qi Gong, Mindfulness and Tai Chi Easy for Stress Reduction
This is a FREE weekly wellness class in moving meditation practices for vitality, wellness and stress reduction. We practice gentle movement, breath awareness, self-applied massage, and relaxation practice with guided meditation and visualization to foster higher immune system function, reduce reactivity, and activate internal healing resources. Fermilab Arts Series Presents Leo Kottke May 8
Acoustic guitar legend Leo Kottke appears as part of the Fermilab Arts Series on Saturday, May 8 at 8 p.m., Ramsey Auditorium. “My music is maybe hard to categorize,” Kottke allows. “It doesn’t fit conveniently into the bins at record stores. That works for me, though... I don’t rise and fall with trends. Most listeners seem to have room for this stuff. Calling all softball players
Come join Fermilab’s summer COED 14 inch softball league, new teams forming now. Games are played in the village on Wednesday or Thursday nights at 5:30. Season starts May 12 and runs through the end of August. This is not your typical park district league, there is no experience required and there is no cost to join the league.
