Weekly Qigong, Balance & Lower Body Strength Class
Free weekly class. Come and have fun...while gently increasing your balance and range of motion, featuring moving meditation and gentle exercise forms. This class will focus specifically on movements that slowly build balance and lower body strength. We will work with several Tai Chi/Qigong walking forms, blending them with western exercises targeted to build ankle strength, and also forms emphasizing core and leg strength. Change in User Office Hours
Beginning Wednesday, September 12, the User's Office business hours will change, to accomodate early closing on Wednesday afternoons. Our new office hours are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 7:30am to 4pm and Wednesdays: 8am to 2:30pm. Please note that ID Badge applications will not be accepted after 2:30 pm on Wednesdays. .
Martial Arts Classes
Kyuki-Do is a Korean martial art similar to Taekwondo. The Next Fermi Kyuki-Do Martial Arts session begins on September 24. I will teach you how to kick, punch, block, throw and fall, and basic self defense. Classes are held for six weeks on Monday and Wednesdays from 5 - 6 pm at the Recreation Facility in the Village. You need to register for the class through the Recreation Office. The cost is $55.00. You do not need a gym membership to join this class. I will supply a free uniform to students who have never participated in martial arts before. This class is limited to ten students. .
International Folk Dancing returns to Kuhn Village Barn Sept. 13
International Folk Dancing will meet once more in Ramsey Auditorium this Thursday, Sept. 6, and then return to Kuhn Village Barn on Sept. 13 for the fall season. Dancing is held weekly Thursdays from 7:30 to 10 p.m. with instruction and dances for newer dancers early and request dancing later. Newcomers are always welcome. Scottish country dancing returns to Kuhn Village Barn - Sept. 4
Silk and Thistle Scottish Country Dancing will move back Kuhn Village Barn for the fall season this Tuesday, Sept. 4. The group meets from 7:30 to 10 p.m., and is taught by Doug Jensen.
