Reconstruction Input Pipeline (RIP)
This element includes all effort and materials needed to provide the hardware and software for the first phase of the offline data handling, which involves moving data written to disk local to each experiment, by the DA , to the Feynman center where it can be entered into the production system and/or cached and archived.
It includes all prototyping, research, investigation, and vendor surveys necessary to develop detailed specifications for the hardware and software components of the system
It also includes the design, system specifications, procurement specifications, software development, system integration and testing.
Common solutions should be developed where possible, taking into the account the different data rates, raw event formats, and processing strategies of CDF and D0
Raw data must be archived into the mass storage system in such a way that it can enter the subsequent stages of processing.
Procurement of needed hardware and either procurement or development of the software needed to implement the data handling system.
In requirements and Product Evaluation Stage.
