Volunteer for National Lab Day at Fermilab — May 3-7, 2010

Car that slid off side of road

National Lab Day is a nationwide movement to support science, technology, engineering and math education in our schools by connecting teachers with working professionals. This connection will bring more hands-on, inquiry-based lab experiences to students. This year's celebration of National Lab Day will take place for many schools during the first week of May.

Join Fermilab in supporting National Lab Day by volunteering for opportunities in our community.

President Barack Obama

"I want to persuade you to spend time in the classroom, talking and showing young people what it is that your work can mean, and what it means to you.... I want us all to think about new and creative ways to engage young people in science and engineering, whether it's science festivals, robotics competitions, fairs that encourage young people to create and build and invent–to be makers of things, not just consumers of things."

– President Barack Obama, during an April 2009 speech at the National Academy of Sciences

I would like to see as many members of Fermilab's scientific and technical staff as possible join me in celebrating National Lab Day in classrooms in local communities--or wherever they happen to be.
