Accelerator Update for August 9, 2006 - August 11, 2006

Wednesday August 9

The day shift began with operations monitoring store #4897, the Recycler Ring (RR) stash at 64.5 E10, and Pbar stack at 58.2 E10. MiniBooNE and NuMI are taking beam.

NuMI turned off at 8:55 AM for access to search for a water leak.

NuMI resumes taking beam at 2:44 PM.

Operations put the Recycler into shot setup at 4:16 PM to stash antiprotons.

Pbar returns to stacking at 4:38 PM.

Operations put the Recycler into shot setup at 8:42 PM to stash antiprotons.

Pbar returns to stacking at 9:43 PM.

Thursday August 10

The midnight shift began with operations monitoring store #4897, the Recycler Ring (RR) stash at 249.6 E10, and Pbar stack at 41.5 E10. MiniBooNE and NuMI are taking beam.

Operations put the Recycler into shot setup at 3:05 AM to stash antiprotons.

Pbar returns to stacking at 3:37 AM.

Tevatron (Tev) studies began at 6:29 AM.

Tevatron quench at E1 at 6:29 AM.

The Tev was recovered by 9:10 AM, at which time they began a dry squeeze.

Shot setup begins at 9:36 AM.

Operations established store #4898 at 11:46 AM with an initial luminosity of 158.62 E30.

At 11:45 AM, Booster and Main Injector turned off for necessary repairs.

At 3:28 PM, beam returns to MiniBooNe.

Stacking resumes at 3:43 PM.

NuMI turns on at 5:32 PM.

Operations put the Recycler into shot setup at 8:57 PM to stash antiprotons.

Pbar returns to stacking at 9:49 PM.

Friday August 11

The midnight shift began with operations monitoring store #4898, the Recycler Ring (RR) stash at 135.5 E10 and Pbar stack at 49.4 E10. MiniBooNE and NuMI are taking beam.

Operations put the Recycler into shot setup at 1:06 AM to stash antiprotons.

Pbar returns to stacking at 2:01 AM.

Operations put the Recycler into shot setup at 6:30 AM to stash antiprotons.

Pbar returns to stacking at 7:00 AM.

The Plan for the Weekend

Keep the store, stack, stash, run beam to NuMI and MiniBooNE.
