MiniBooNE resumed taking beam at 4:09 PM.

At 5:03 PM, a Linac quadrupole power supply (QPS225) tripped off. It reset.

At 5:20 PM, all the Linac Klystron section vacuum valves closed. A Linac expert reported he had power cycled a SRM, which inadvertently caused valves to close.

At 7:21 PM, Linac experts reported a problem with the Velocity meter; its regulation loop wasn’t working and when they power cycled the device, it blew a fuse. They adjusted the loop by hand and then disabled it. Operators will adjust as needed through the night.

At 10:04 PM, Operations reported that they had been having problems with QPS114 and 115 all night. Operators swapped control cards.

At 11:28 PM, LRF2 tripped off. It reset.

At 11:51 PM, BRF19 tripped off for the first of three times in 12 minutes. It reset.

Operations reported at midnight that the Recycler had stashed five times during the evening shift.

Thursday Sept 18

The midnight shift began with Operations monitoring store 6425 (48.35E30) and the stash (229.6E10), with the Pbar stacking (28.1E10), and with the MiniBooNE and NuMI experiments taking beam.

At 12:16 AM, operators changed the P4 card for a Linac power supply (QPS114).

Operations established beam to MTest at 4:12 AM.

Operations terminated store 6425 at 5:38 AM.

Operations put the TeV into shot setup at 5:49 AM.

Operations reported at 8:01 AM that the Recycler had stashed four times during the midnight shift.

Operations established store 6426 at 8:07 AM with an initial luminosity of 266.7E30.

At 10:37 AM, a Linac quadrupole power supply (L:QPS225) tripped off for the first of two times in 33 minutes. It reset.

At 10:58 AM, Operations reported that the readbacks for two Accumulator power supplies (A:IB and A:LQ) began jumping around. A power supply expert investigated and reported that there was nothing wrong with the supplies.

A Linac expert reported at 11:31 AM that the regulation loop for KRF6 was disabled. He re-enabled it.

At 11:43 AM, L:QPS225 tripped off for the first of two times in about 30 minutes. After the last trip, operators swapped control cards with another power supply.

Operations reported at 12:39 PM that the problem with the Linac Velocity meter was resolved. The problem had to do with KRF6 and with a timer for the digitizer that the regulation loop used.

At 1:26 PM, QPS227 tripped off. This was the power supply that had received the QPS225 control card. A Linac expert changed control cards.

A MI expert began a 12- batch slipstacking study at 1:47 PM.

At 3:44 PM, KRF5 tripped off. It reset.

Operations reported at 4 PM that the Recycler had stashed five times during the day shift.

At 7:05 PM, KRF5 tripped off. It reset.

At 7:33 PM, the MIRF10 modulator LCW flow dropped out and then returned to normal. Its deck tube filament tripped off and then began timing back in.

At 12:28 AM, Operations reported that the Pbar FE tripped off.

At 1:02 AM, Operations reported that they had rebooted the Pbar FE twice and then power cycled it; this did not fix the problem. Operations called in an expert.

Pbar resumed stacking at 2:41 AM. The expert found several problems: a kicker control card that did not have any table data, a septum that was at the wrong setting, and a bad crate card.

At 3:13 AM, MIRF15 tripped off. It reset.
